Clare v Cork

(Oldest Posts First)

Where to start on that debacle yesterday,
How we managed to lose that game is beyond me. Six points up with 14 minutes remaining, with an extra-man and completely on top, yet we still managed to lose by 3 !!!
Pat Horgan's goal was obviously the turning point, and once he scored it Clare pretty much collapsed. It was like they were frightened to compete. We didn't have a single person who stood up in the last 10 minutes and took the fight to Cork. Lets be honest, Cork were pretty poor yesterday, yet they dug in and completely outfought us when it counted -not too un-similiar from last years championship.
Anyways, here are my main concerns for this year
1. What the hell happened with Gerry Quinn (plus there have been rumours of others leaving the panel in last few weeks).
2. Philip Brennan has either to be replaced or make a major improvement. He may have been a bit unlucky to have that free awarded against him, but either way they were 2 soft goals to coincede, which was pretty much what happened against Limerick earlier on.
3. Brian O'Connell did not look match-fit and probably should have been replaced. He obviously has a lot of work still to do.
4. Tony Griffin had another very poor game, and I have to thank the ref for sendinh him off on a yellow, cause it looked like Mike Mac was going to leave him on for another full game.

Roashter your dead right.
Brennan has to wake up. the only problem is there is no able ready replacement.
The gerry quinn problem is a disaster considering he is one of the best players in the country. mike mac said he doesnt want to represent the jersey. What does that mean???

Watched on you tube last years match against Cork in the championship the goals conceded would embaress a 12 year old yes he is goog on a high ball but has made a seasonfull of errors alone against Limerick. The U-21 Goalie from last year Donal Touhy I think from Crusheen should be given a shot. Calre is obviously not a happy camp at the moment Mr Quinn again on a walkabout pity. Big problem is that several players never really improved since thay came on the panel.

Clare need the likes of gerry quinn and niall gilligan as they 're probably the only 2 real leaders on the the panel.

Clare without Quinn and Gilligan would be sitting ducks in the championship.
