Thrilled to see that Leo has been honoured with an award for services to Carlow GAA for their annual awards on January 16th 2016. A fully deserved award for a Trojan worker for the GAA. His articles in both local papers have been very badly missed. His match reports have also been missed particularly for their independent assessment and his ability to capture the essence of each match. He was never judgemental and as a result they were eagerly looked forward to by players and supporters the following week. His knowledge of his material has to be one of the best ever in Carlow. A true supporter of everything GAA in the county as you are likely to see him at an under 12 game , a camogie match or the big inter county games in Thurles or a club championship match in Birr, Ennis or Nowlan Park.

One of our best.

Yes, fully deserving. Hes such a gentleman and its a pleasure to see him work with the young kids. He makes the hurling fun and gets the interest going. I had great discussions with him especially years ago at the dj carey school of hurling, but more often against the barrier on the terrace in dr cullen park. A gaa man to the core, and a great carlow man in particular. There are few men with his passion for the game. Well done Leo.
