Report

Under 8 and 10 girls County Go Games.

On Saturday morning last 5/9/26 Ballycomoyle hosted a under 8 and under 10 girls go games. We welcomed St Lomans, Bunbrosna, Multyfarnham, St. Paul’s and Ballymachugh . We were blessed with the weather and we had a very enjoyable morning of football. Our own young girls showed off the skills they are learning every Thursday evening at training. We are so appreciative of all the help and support that we received to run the go games. Huge shout out to everyone who refereed, made teas, marked pitches, helped with traffic! Thanks to all the young girls and their parents that travelled to Ballycomoyle and we hope all the girls had a great morning of football and fun!

St Michaels played with style and power to overcome the visitors in a comfortable victory to boost their chances of a home semi final.

23 players togged out which is a phenomenal turnaround from having the bare 12 players earlier in the year.

Next up is the visit of hot favourites Athlone on Thursday evening.

St Michaels 2-12

Athlone 5-9

St Michaels minors finished out the league phase of their championship with a ferocious encounter going down to Athlone in Castletown-Finea Gaa pitch on Friday evening last 4/9/26.

A much improved team put it up to the hot favourites with little to separate the teams for most of the game but the visitors pulled away in the end to claim the points.

Many thanks to Referee John Williams.

Knockouts await.

Under14 Ballycomoyle Boys – Quarter-Final Report

On Wednesday evening last 2/9/26, our U14 Ballycomoyle boys travelled to Garrycastle for their quarter-final, with wet conditions making for a difficult evening of football.

From the throw-in, Ballycomoyle faced a very physical Garrycastle side. Our lads settled well and got the first score on the board, but Garrycastle responded with a number of goals to take control of the game.

Ballycomoyle showed great character and never gave up, fighting their way back into the contest with some lovely points and some excellent passages of play.

The second half saw some great scores from both teams, with our lads continuing to battle right until the final whistle. On the night, however, the home side proved too strong and Garrycastle came away as well-deserved winners.

While the result wasn’t what our boys had hoped for, there was plenty to be proud of in their effort, determination and never-say-die attitude.

Well done to all the players and management for their hard work and commitment.

Under 14 Girls Result.

Our Under 14 girls played Killucan on Thursday evening last 27/9/26 and yet again, our girls put on a fantastic performance from start to finish.

There were some great scores from the girls showing great determination and teamwork throughout.

At half-time, there was very little between the two teams, with Ballycomoyle were leading by just two points. Half-time score:

Ballycomoyle 3-03.

Killucan 2-04.

Both teams came out strong in the second half, matching each other score for score. It was a very tight game, with nothing between the two sides, but on the day it was Killucan who came out on top.

Final score:

Ballycomoyle 4-07.

Killucan 5-06.

Thankfully, due to our previous performances, the girls have done enough to secure their place in the semi final. Date yet to be confirmed.

Well done to every one of our girls for another Brilliant performance.
