Westmeath Scór Sinsir Final.

The Westmeath Final of Scór Sinsir 2026 was held in The Downs GAA Centre on Saturday last, March 8th. Ballycomoyle was well represented with competitors in Tráth na gCeist/Question Time, Amhránaíocht Aonair/Solo Singing, Nuachleas/Novelty Act and Ceol Uirlise/Instrumental Music.

The first competition of the evening was the Tráth na gCeist and Ballycomoyle Gaa Club were represented by Seamus MacDermott, Seamus Coyle, Sean Daly and Piaras Walsh. After the initial Table quiz, the top 3 teams qualified for the individual stage of the quiz. The Ballycomoyle team pipped The Downs team by one point and joined St.Joseph’s and Mullingar Shamrocks on stage for the final part of the quiz. Ballycomoyle finished a very respectable 3rd behind St. Joseph’s and Mullingar Shamrocks, who ran out winners in the end.

The first Ballycomoyle representative, in the stage competitions, was Sean Daly in the Amhránaíocht Aonair. This was a hotly contested competition, with former County, Leinster and All-Ireland winners in the line-up. When the adjudicators decision was announced it was Grace NicDhomhnall from Na Dúnta who got the nod from the judges.

The next discipline Ballycomyle had an entry in was the Nuachleas and there were 4 Acts in this competition. When the results were announced at the end of the night it was the group from Ballinagore who were crowned county winners. Well done to our talented cast of Lorraine Ledwith, Helen Coyle, Carmel Coyle, Piaras Walsh, Paul Casserly, Aidan Keogh, Seamus Coyle and Sean Daly.

The penultimate competition of the night was the Ceol Uirlise and while the Ballycomoyle musicians were out of luck on the night, they can be very proud of their performance. Representing Ballycomoyle were Naomi Fitzpatrick, Sandra Heslin, Noel O’Neill, Olivia Craig and Grace Craig.

Congratulations to all those who represented Ballycomoyle so well on Saturday and while we didn’t take home any county titles on the night all our participants can be proud of their performances. Best of luck to those who go ahead to represent the county on Sunday next, March 22nd, in Wilkinstown, Co. Meath.

Congratulations:

Congratulations to our under 14 girl Roisin O Neill and the Westmeath U14 girls who played in the Leinster championship on Saturday last 14/3/26 v Laois and Wexford.

Also congratulations to own Michael Gilsenan and Luke O'Neill who are both Selectors on Westmeath under 14 girls team.

Junior men:

ACFL Division 7.

We kicked off our league campaign at home to Caulry in Division 7 on Sunday morning last the 15/3/26.
