Our Club made History on Monday night last 8/12/25

When Deirdre Devine was the first Woman to be Elected as Chairperson of Our Club.

It's a great honour for our club to have Deirdre leading us for the coming year 2026.

AGM.

Report.

On Monday night last 8/12/25.

We held our club AGM in the Castle Varagh Hotel Castlepollard.

We were delighted to see a fantastic turnout of people attending our AGM.

Our Club Chairman Sean Daly open the meeting by having a minute silence for all the deceased members of our club. Sean gave a very detailed run down of all our activities over past year. Sean then went on to ask our club Secretary to read minutes of last year's AGM. Our Club Secretary Sinead Williams gave an excellent report on what was an extremely busy year for our club.

Our Treasurers Sarita Nolan and Grace Tyrell gave an excellent Report on the Finances of our club.

We had further excellent Reports from our Ladies Secretary Michael Gilsenan,

Underage Secretary, Mike Ginnell.

And our culture officer Catherine Daly.

We then moved on to election of club officers for the 2026 season.

Our club officers are as follows.

Our Junior ladies footballers are Back Training every Thursday and Sunday indoors in the Castlepollard GAA Centre

Times.

Thursday: 7pm to 8-45pm.

Sunday: 10am to 11-45am

All new players are very welcome.

 

Westmeath County 

Convention

Wednesday 10/12/25

Report.

Congratulations to Paddy Wallace on his appointment as Westmeath GAA Chairperson at last Wednesday night's Co Convention.

Best wishes also to Paula Finan, newly elected Vice-Chairperson, Peter Collins, Assistant Secretary, and Sinead Kiernan, Communications Officer.

We wish all of Westmeath GAA management the very best going into 2026 and beyond.

County AGM 8pm Greville Arm's on Monday night 15/12/25 . New executive being elected.

Sympathy 

We send our deepest sympathy to Ginnell family Tullyhill, and the Brown family, Ballymanus on the very sad passing of Tom Lynch. 

To his sons Tomas, Conor, Fergal and Cathal, their mother Kathleen, his daughters-in-law Regina, Aisling, Katja and Debbie, his grandchildren Maya, Ben, Eila, Timmy and Daniel, his sister Bernie (Ginnell), his close friend Alice, his nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends.

May Tom's gentle soul Rest in Peace Amen.
