U16 Camogie Championship Sheild Final
Lough Lene Gaels..............6.08
Castletown Geoghegan.....0.06
Lough Lene Gaels, won the 2025 U16 Camogie Championship Shield Competition, defeating Castletown Geoghegan in the final of that competition, played at The Downs early on Saturday September 27th.
Any disappointment that may have lingered in the wake of a one point defeat to Raharney in a semi final fixture of the corresponding U16 Camogie Championship Cup competition, was efficiently expelled by the quality of the Lough Lene Gaels team performance in this fixture. Lough Lene Gaels 4.04 Castletown Geoghegan 0.02, was the match scoreline at half time. The second half of this fixture was very evenly contested. Lough Lene Gaels though did not allow Castletown Geoghegan to emphasise their excellent attacking qualities, which had yielded a high scoring total of 5.08 in a losing semi final joust versus Drumraney in a Division 1 Cup semi final fixture of the U16 Club Camogie Championships. Following the conclusion of this match, Lough Lene Gaels team captain Keelin Kavanagh was presented with the U16 Camogie Division 1 Championship Sheild by Westmeath Camogie Board Chairperson Karen Goldrick.
Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club sincerely expresses it's sincere congratulations to its 2025 U16 Panel of players and team management on last Saturday's success.

Senior A Camogie Championship Semi Final
Lough Lene Gaels.....0.09
Clonkill.......................1.11
Lough Lene Gaels played 2025 Senior Camogie League Division 1 winners Clonkill in a semi final fixture of the David Smyth Catering Senior A Camogie Championship at Crookedwood on Sunday September 28th.
Lough Lene Gaels were very competitive throughout this semi final fixture, Lough Lene Gaels 0.06 Clonkill 1.03, the match scoreline at half time. For much of the general play of the second half, this semi final fixture continued to remain in doubt as regards its possible outcome. Inside the closing 10 minutes of scheduled playing time, Lough Lene Gaels 0.09 Clonkill 1.07 was the match scoreline, Lough Lene Gaels in arrears to Clonkill by just a single point margin. Clonkill in the playing time that remained thereafter struck over four points without any scoring response from Lough Lene Gaels, to defeat Lough Lene Gaels by a margin of five points. Therefore Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club has now reached the conclusion of its participation in this competition. Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club extends its sincere gratitude to its 2025 Senior grade panel of players and team management for their dedicated and professional minded application and attitude to both preparing for the playing of fixtures and the playing of actual fixtures.
