Congratulations Darragh 

 

Pride of place this week goes to Darragh McCabe, the winner of the Leinster Scór na nÓg title in Summerhill, County Meath on Saturday. Darragh’s singing of Only Our Rivers Run Free was superb and won the vote of the judges in the Amhránaíocht Aonair ( Solo Singing) competition. Darragh qualifies for the All-Ireland final which will be staged in Monaghan on 25 January.

 

We also congratulate the other Leinster title winners from Scór Iarmhí especially our neighbours The Downs who qualified for the all-Ireland finals in Aithriseoireacht, Nuachleas and Rince Seit and Tráth na gCeisteanna. We were delighted to see Scór Iarmhí qualify in Bailéad Ghrúpa (Moate All_Whites) & Ceoil Uirlise (Bunbrosna Scor) also.

 

AGM Time 

Our AGM takes place on Saturday next at 7.30 in The Clubhouse in Springfield. 

 

Westmeath LGFA Club PRO of the Year 

 

Tom Hunt has been awarded Westmeath LGFA Club PRO of the Year at the inaugural Westmeath LGFA Volunteer Awards held in  The Village Barn Tyrrellspass.  Mullingar Shamrocks were  delighted to see Tom recognised for all his hard work, dedication and promotion of the ladies game. No club event is too big or too small. Tom is there for every game, blitz, camp, fundraiser, meeting, gathering, celebration .. across the entire club from our Seamroigi, Underage, Adult, G4M&O’s, Scór, Schools, County … you name it Tom has it covered.  He gives up so much time to ensure every aspect of the club & its members are promoted equally. We are so lucky to have a man like Tom in our club who cares so much about the game. 

 

With his extensive knowledge of just about everything, Tom helps the club to remember the glory days of past, celebrate the present and look forward to the clubs exciting future. 

 

Also congratulations to Karen & Sophie Hegarty who were nominated for Club Coach of the Year and Leah Glynn as Young Volunteer of the Year. It was a great night in Tyrrellspass where LGFA volunteers were recognised for their hard work and dedication, well done to Westmeath LGFA for hosting a lovely evening.
