Great Performances in Scór na nÓg
We are so proud of our Mullingar Shamrocks representative in Sunday’s Scór na nÓg county finals in The Downs and those who competed last week in the Semi-final and just missed out on making it to the big county final stage.
Our Ballad Group of Sarah Forde, Áine Hickey, Nathan Fox, Dylan Hanly and Darragh McCabe were outstanding and are eligible to compete for the next three years in Scór na nÓg. Thanks to Maeve Corroon for her coaching during the week. The judges’ comments' were wonderfully positive and congrats to all involved.
Darragh McCabe won the votes of the judges and is the new Westmeath Solo Singing Champion (that has a nice ring too it, as Larry McCarthy might say) and now takes his considerable talent into the Leinster Championship. Congrats Darragh.
We also had a very young Trá na gCeist team competing and doing the club proud were Orla and Eilish Nohilly, Donnacha Doyle and Evan Palmer.
Apart from the winning or not it is great to see the club back competing in the Scór platform and restoring the connection with what is a great part of the Mullingar Shamrocks heritage.
Great credit is due to our Cultural Officer, Emma McCabe Byrne and her team of helpers for their work over the past number of weeks.
G4M&O Season Ends
Our G4M&Os outdoor football training has finished up for another year and what a successful year it was! We played a total of 23 games - 6 at home in Springfield, 2 away and 15 blitz games when we took part in the North Leinster Blitz in Finglas, the National Blitz in Portmarnock and The Downs Blitz! We wish to thank our dedicated coach Niall who has done wonders for us with the excellent training and boosting the morale of the team.
Our numbers continue to grow which is fantastic to see.
In saying that, the season hasn't actually ended as the girls continue with indoor ball skills, gym training and pilates classes.
