Minor champions
New Forest Gaels secured back-to-back minor successes with a 4-14 to 3-13 victory over Multyfarnham in Ballynacargy last Saturday.
As the scoreline suggests, this MFC Division 4 final was an old-fashioned shootout which the Kilbeggan-Tyrrellspass combination shaded thanks to goals from top-scorer Darragh O’Brien, Neale Pearson (two) and Cillian Rochford. There were joyous scenes afterwards when joint-captains Pearson and Rochford were presented with the silverware.
Team: Conor Mullins; Alleluia Abhulimen, Alex Eighan, Michael Farrell; Sean Clarke (0-1), Joai Victor, Liam Newman; Jacob Browne, Shane Carey (0-1); Cillian Rochford (joint-captain, 1-2), Neale Pearson (joint-captain, 2-1), Mikey Devine (0-1); Arron McDonald, Darragh O’Brien (1-8), Davin Egan. Subs: Jack Leonard, Ronan Kennedy, Damian Larkinski, Thomas Carroll, Joe Lamar, Brendan Egan, Chlem Ferreia and Brendan Fox.

Dublin Marathon
Well done to clubmen Mattie McCormack and Pauric Ennis as well as all the other locals who ran the Dublin Marathon last Sunday.
Pauric finished 83rd overall out of a field of nearly 18,000 with an incredible time of 2:36.46, while Mattie also ran a great race after managing New Forest Gaels to minor glory less than 24 hours earlier.
