Southern Gaels club notes

January 25, 2021

Adult Hurling

Southern Gaels will enter two teams in this year's competitions. They will enter both the Intermediate and Junior B championships. However, they will have only one team in the League and this will be entered in Division 3. These teams will cater for the growing number of adult hurlers in the club. Indeed, anyone interested in hurling is welcome to join the club, ring Kevin at 087 7989941. Currently it is not known when training and games will resume as we will have to await the return to Level Two restrictions for that to happen.

Charity Quiz.

The recently held on-line Club Charity Quiz raised over €1,000 for the local St Vincent de Paul charity. Thanks to quizmaster Tommy Murphy and all those who took part and contributed to this worthy cause.

Club Calendar.

There are still a number of Club Calendars available for free from club officers and team mentors. Thank you to all our sponsors for supporting this venture and we ask all our members to support them in turn.

County Officials.

Club members Kevin Jordan and Martin Geary will again serve as county officials for 2021. Kevin as County Minor Board Secretary and Martin Geary as a selector with the Co. Minor (U 17) Hurling team.
