Harlesden Harps club notes

September 28, 2020

Upcoming fixture:

Harlesden Harps open up their championship campaign this weekend against Bros Pearses, details tbc, keep an eye on https://twitter.com/harlesdenharps during the week for details.

Previous match:

A controlled performance, especially in the second half, saw Harlesden Harps claim their first trophy of the season with an impressive McCardle Cup win against fellow Junior competitors, St Clarets. A good dry day for football saw a tight opening half from two teams giving their all with nothing to separate them at the break, 0-07 to 1-04. Harps opened the second half the stronger and gradually gained the upper hand with plenty of impressive scores from Ryan McSherry, long range specialist Darren Murphy and a crucial goal from club stalwart Ashley O’Halloran to see us triumph on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-09. A great start to the season, tougher games to come of course but plenty to be confident about for the upcoming Junior campaign.

Training:

Training continues every week taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at 7:00pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). A physio will be there on Tuesdays for any niggles you may have. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club.
