Robbie Brennan's bid to become the next Meath football manager has been bolstered by the addition of Joe McMahon to his proposed management team.

The Irish Times is reporting that the current Kilmacud Crokes boss has lined up the former Tyrone star along with Monaghan's Martin Corey and Meath legend Bernard Flynn - who is part of his backroom team at Crokes - to join him on his ticket.

Omagh man McMahon won All-Ireland SFC titles with the Red Hands in 2006 and 2008, and he also part of the coaching team under the joint management of Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan when Tyrone regained the Sam Maguire in 2021.

Brennan and Lar Wall - who was involved as a coach with Roscommon last year - are believed to be the only candidates for the post which was vacated by Colm O'Rourke last month.
