Errigal Ciaran are Tyrone senior football champions for the first time in 10 years after seeing off Carrickmore with a 2-11 to 1-12 victory in Omagh.
Padraig McGirr’s goal on the eve of half-time saw the men from Dunmoyle go in with a commanding 1-8 to 0-4 lead at the interval.
With work to do for the second-half, Carrickmore plugged away and eventually reduced their deficit down to two points with a goal from former Tyrone attacker Martin Penrose.
Crucially, Errigal landed the next major though and it came from the boot of Joe Oguz, who was sent through brilliantly by Darragh Canavan's flick, to put them back up by five as they held off a spirited rally from their opponents towards the finish to collect their eighth O’Neill Cup.
