Laois, Westmeath and Antrim all recorded Phase 1 third round wins in the Leinster minor hurling championship on Saturday.
Laois were 1-10 to 0-8 winners over Kildare in Hawkfield, where Cillin Hoey struck the game’s only goal midway through the first-half.

The visitors would go on to carry in a 1-7 to 0-5 lead at the interval and the scores of LJ Cuddy and Callum Jones in the second-half would help them to record a five-point victory in the end.
In Raharney, Westmeath were in impressive form as they inflicted a 3-26 to 0-10 defeat on Kerry.
MJ Long’s inside the opening minute set the tone for the home side and they’d goal again through Darragh Geary in the 18th minute before moving towards a 2-11 to 1-6 advantage at the break.

Dean Kelly, Conor Raleigh and Eoghan Beehan helped increase the Westmeath tally to 2-20 in the second-half and, despite conceding a Thomas Scanlon goal, the Lake County would cruise to the victory with Greary grabbing his second goal of the afternoon late on.
Meanwhile, Antrim simply proved too strong for Meath as they hit the Royals for 10 goals in Trim where it finished 10-20 to 1-10 in favour of the visitors.
