Galway vice-captain Aoife Donohue says the Tribeswomen are “under no illusions” over the task ahead of them in Sunday’s All-Ireland senior camogie final against Cork at Croke Park (5.15pm).
The sides are set clash for the third time in an O’Duffy Cup decider since 2021, with the Rebels having defeated their Connacht counterparts this time last year on the big stage and Galway winning in the aforementioned year.
Speaking to RTE Sport this week in the build-up to the final, Donohue says that the two teams know each other “inside out” at this stage and anticipates a close encounter at headquarters this weekend.
"We're both very familiar with each other and we've played each other loads of times down through the years. We played them in the league final this year and obviously last year's All-Ireland final as well,” the wing forward stated.
"We'll be very much focusing on our own group. Once you get back to Croke Park on All-Ireland final day, anything can happen.
" As I said, we're both very familiar with each other, we know each inside out, but it’s all down to what happens on the day.
" We're really looking forward to it. We're under no illusions as to the challenge that lies ahead of us, in Cork. They’re an excellent team and I don't think it'll come down to much."
