Incumbent Peter Fitzpatrick is facing a challenge from Sean McClean for the position of Louth GAA chairman.

One of the most high-profile county board officials in the country, Fitzpatrick is hoping to see out the final year of his five-year term at next month’s annual convention, but is expected to come under pressure from Hunterstown Rovers’ clubman and former vice-chairman McClean, who is believed to have the support of several clubs.

Fitzpatrick, from the Clan na Gael club, was instrumental in bringing Mickey Harte to the Wee County in late 2020 as manager, but has faced criticism over his failure to deliver a new stadium on the outskirts of Dundalk.
