"We will see the best version of Waterford that we have seen in the last two years"

Brendan Cummins expects to see the Waterford players showing some pride in the jersey on Sunday when they take on his native Tipperary in Thurles.
The 2-22 to 0-16 defeat to Clare a little less to a fortnight ago means that Davy Fitzgerald’s men will be playing for pride on this weekend as the Banner men ended their championship hopes for another season.
Speaking on the RTE GAA Podcast, Cummins said he is still anticipating a vastly improved display from the Deise men at Semple Stadium on Sunday.
"We will see the best version of Waterford that we have seen in the last two years," he said.
"That's for many reasons. The players will have gotten it in the neck over the last couple of weeks. Davy will be under serious pressure because he'll want to be able to say that there is progress in the players.
"He'll want a go next year and to be left alone with his process, like the [three year] one that Jamie Barron spoke about.
"Liam Sheedy used to say that it was a one-year plan, and that's the way it is. If you keep losing matches and you're not showing any signs of getting better, then it is a one-year plan for managers and players.
"That's the reality of the game we're playing in and everyone signs up to that."
