Former Round Towers and Kidare footballer Peter McConnon has been appointed Carlow GAA's new Head of Operations.

McConnon, who played for the Lilywhites during Mick O'Dwyer's first spell in charge in the early 1990s, has been living in Carlow for many years where he is heavily involved with the Palatine club. He managed Kildare to a Leinster U21FC title in 2004 and later managed the Carlow U21 footballers as well.

"The former Kildare county player & Palatine clubman will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the role," Carlow GAA said in a social media post.
