Con O'Callaghan has been named Dublin senior football captain for the 2025 Championship.
The Cuala clubman takes over the captaincy from the retired James McCarthy ahead of this weekend's Leinster SFC quarter-final against Wicklow in Aughrim. The Dubs start the provincial campaign as hot favourites to claim a 14th consecutive Delaney Cup.
Ciaran Kilkenny will act as vice-captain to O'Callaghan who had held the role for the past four seasons. One of the most decorated players in GAA history, O'Callaghan started the year on a high by helping Cuala to an historic All-Ireland club SFC title in January. The dual star was subsequently crowned AIB Club Footballer of the Year.
