Peter Fitzpatrick during his tenure with Louth

Sean McClean is set to be elected as the new Louth GAA chairman after incumbent Peter Fitzpatrick announced his intention to step down.

The Clan na Gael clubman has informed the Drogheda Independent / Argus that he will not be seeking a fifth and final year in the chair at next Tuesday night’s annual convention in Darver. It comes after he also stood down from his position on the Louth GAA Stadium Committee, but could still seek to retain his seat on Central Council.

Fitzpatrick’s decision paves the way for Hunterstown Rovers clubman and former vice-chairman McClean to lead the Wee County into 2024 and beyond.
