The last inter-county managerial vacancy has been filled ahead of 2024 with the appointment of Alan O’Mara as New York senior football boss.

The former Cavan goalkeeper takes over from Armagh’s native Johnny McGeeney, who led the Exiles to an historic Connacht SFC victory over Leitrim this year. O’Mara’s selectors are fellow Westmeath New York clubman Jeffrey Farrell, David McNamara and Dean O’Donnell. Completing the new-look backroom team are football coach Ronan McGinley, player development coach Mick Cunningham, S&C coach Sean Kelly and physio Sinead Burns.

A statement issued by New York GAA read: "The NYGAA looks forward to an exciting season ahead with this new leadership team, confident that their collective expertise will steer the team to new successes. We invite our community and supporters to rally behind the team as they embark on this exhilarating journey in Gaelic football.”
