Tiernan McCann on duty for Tyrone

Tiernan McCann has opted out of the Tyrone senior football squad for the 2022 season, according to a report from BBC NI.

The Killyclogher defender, who made his debut in 2014, had been a regular under Mickey Harte but injuries saw his playing time limited during the Red Hands’ run to the All-Ireland SFC title last year.

He becomes the latest player to leave the Tyrone set-up under joint managers Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher, with Ronan O'Neill, Mark Bradley, Hugh Pat McGeary and Michael Cassidy having all departed the squad in recent times.

Tyrone are set to commence their Allianz League campaign this day week when they welcome neighbours Monaghan to Healy Park, after the Farney men defeated Donegal last night at the Omagh venue to claim their first Dr McKenna Cup title in 19 years.
