Marist College Athlone have been reinstated to the Leinster Colleges SF 'A' Championship after Naas CBS used one sub too many in last Saturday's quarter-final.

Naas won the game on a 3-13 to 3-9 scoreline, but brought on six substitutes when only five are permitted. It later emerged that none of the subs were temporary or blood subs, which would have allowed the Kildare school to make an additional change.

Marist appealed the result and were yesterday granted a replay which will be played this Saturday at a venue to be confirmed.

A statement issued by Noel Delaney of the Leinster Council yesterday read: "An issue occurred in this game last Saturday in Kinnegad in that Naas CBS used six substitutes. Following a Leinster Schools CCC meeting this afternoon, it has been agreed / decided this game will be replayed - to be played next Saturday, January 22nd."
