‘Effin Eddie’ Moroney was back behind the mic after a long absence for his beloved Aherlow’s Tipperary IFC final victory over Galtee Rovers last Sunday.
Streaming service Clubber TV recruited the GAA cult figure for their coverage of the decider. And just like in 1992 when his hilarious commentary on the Tipperary U21FC final between Aherlow and Nenagh made him famous, ‘Effin Eddie’ had plenty to get excited about as Aherlow prevailed on a 1-7 to 1-5 scoreline at a wind-swept FBD Semple Stadium.
“Will he do a Maurice Fitzgerald and curl it over, that’s what he's attempting, and that’s what he's just done!" he joyfully declared as Barry Grogan kicked the insurance point from a free.
