There were joyous scenes in Littleton last Saturday when Thurles Gaels won their first-ever adult championship.
The club, which was founded in 2005, were crowned Mid Tipperary Junior 'B' Hurling champions following a dramatic extra-time victory over Holycross Ballycahill. Goalkeeper Michael Bryan was the unlikely hero for the Gaels after his third free in the last minute of extra-time handed them an historic 2-16 to 1-18 win.
"Some match!!!! Well done to our Men, commiserations to Holycross Ballycahill. Hearts and bodies were put on the line by both teams tonight!" the Gaels posted on Facebook afterwards.
