Tipperary's Jason Forde

Tipperary sharpshooter Jason Forde is set to miss the rest of the Munster senior hurling championship campaign as a result of the hamstring injury he suffered against Cork.

Forde’s forced withdrawal occurred just 16 minutes into the cracking clash against at Pairc Ui Chaoimh a week ago and, in a statement released on the Tipperary GAA website, it was confirmed that the Silvermines suffered hamstring damage and is facing four weeks on the sidelines.

It means that Forde will miss the Premier men’s remaining clashes against Limerick and Waterford later this month.

“Tipperary Senior Hurler Jason Forde is likely to miss Tipperary’s remaining games in the group stages of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship,” the statement read.

“Speaking this evening Tipperary senior hurling manager Liam Cahill said, ‘contrary to incorrect reports earlier this week, Jason did in fact suffer hamstring damage during the Cork game and as a result he will be out of action for 4 weeks’.
