Sligo U20 captain Canice Mulligan hailed the “savage work-rate” of his team mates after yesterday evening’s Connacht championship final victory over Galway.
The Yeats lads struck the last three points at Tuam Stadium to retain their provincial crown on a 0-14 to 0-13 scoreline and, speaking after the victory, Mulligan delivered an epic winning captain’s speech.
"To these lads around me. Absolutely savage work-rate from them," said the skipper.
"We didn't make it easy for ourselves today, we had a tough road to the final, three away games, all the big dogs but Sligo are now a f**king big dog so it doesn't matter.”
He added: "Lastly, to all the Sligo people, it's a savage time to be a Sligo supporter and today, thank you very much. Sligeach Abú."
TweetLove the tongue in cheek ‘language’ reminder from Connacht council president John Murphy.
