Kinnitty Camogie Notes

The Kinnitty Under 10 team that played in the Go Games in Kinnitty

Under 14s

Our girls had their latest match in this year's Under 14 Championship on Wednesday evening when they took on Edenderry.

While Edenderry are still a relatively new club from a camogie perspective they have been making great strides in recent times so it was always going to prove to be a challenge for the Kinnitty girls.  Indeed Edenderry got off to a great start when they got a goal with just minutes on the clock.  Kinnitty didn't panic however and hit back with five unanswered points with four of them coming from Amber Mortimer and Kate Harris accounting for the fifth.  Edenderry's running game was causing the Kinnitty girls problems though and it paid off for the visitors when they hit another goal after 20 minutes.  With half time approaching Amber added another point to leave the scores level at the break.

The second half started well for Kinnitty when a shot from Kate Harris found the net before the teams traded points.  At this stage though two of the Kinnitty experienced players had picked up injuries that really affected their mobility and with no subs available, Edenderry capitalised on this and went on a scoring spraoi that Kinnitty were unable to stop. A series of goals and points left Edenderry with a comfortable win while the Kinnitty girls looked to their injured team mates hoping that their knocks were not too serious.

Hard luck girls and keep up your training and you'll be ready for your next match
