Alan McNamee has been cleared to play for Rhode in Sunday’s Offaly SFC final replay against Tullamore.

The news is a huge boost for the defending champions and for McNamee himself who is seeking to win a remarkable 13th SFC medal. The veteran midfielder received a straight red card in the 23rd minute of the drawn clash for a crunching challenge on Diarmuid Egan, but was exonerated by the Offaly Hearings Committee last night.

Despite being down to 14 men, Rhode came from five points down to rescue a draw nine days ago thanks to Niall McNamee’s last-gasp goal and are favourites to win the replay.
