DIVISION 5 FOOTBALL LEAGUE PLAYOFF

The League camapign for Raheen Junior Footballers came to an end last Friday evening with defeat to Tubber in Tubber on a scoreline of 3-09 to 1-07 in a Play Off for a place in the final of the Div 5 League. Tubber took control of the game from the start as they opened up an early of 1-03 to no score but for the remainder of the half Raheen managed to steady the ship and by half time there was just a goal between them as Tubber led 1-05 to 0-05 with the Raheen scores from Lee Mulpeter (4) & Mikey Buckley (1). The first 10 mins of the second half saw Raheen create chance after chance but were let down by the final touch and then disaster struck between the 10th & 12th minute as 2 quick breaks saw Tubber break through to score 2 goals followed by a point which added to their earlier pointed free. Thereafter both sides added 2 points apiece before Raheen struck for a consolation goal in the final min when a Tubber kickout to midfield was punched all the way back into the edge of the square by Colm Corcoran where it was caught by Lee Mulpeter who turned and rifled his shot to the net.

RAHEEN: Mark Byrne, Brian Corcoran, Chris Floody, Shane O’Rourke, Mikey Keogh, Naoise Dunne, Eoin Corcoran, David Boland, Mikey Buckley (0-01), Lee Mulpeter (1-06), Aidan Pierce, Liam Gorman, Oisin Henchy.

SUBS: Colin Keogh (for Shane O’Rourke), Reece Seery (for Naoise Dunne), Colm Corcoran (for Mikey Buckley), Padraig Bracken (for Liam Gorman), Mark McNally (for Oisin Henchy).
