With the County minor footballers playing in the All Ireland minor football championship quarter-final on Saturday and the senior County team having a weekend off before their round 3 All Ireland quarter final clash with Galway, it is still a busy weekend on the club scene, starting tomorrow evening Friday, July 27th with one game in the Euro Tech Junior football league, shield section, where Rockcorry are at home to Killeevan. All the other games in the Shoe City senior, Monaghan Electrical intermediate and Euro Tech sponsored Junior football leagues are scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Starting with the Shoe City senior football league on Saturday, Inniskeen are at home to Ballybay and Clontibret are away against Scotstown, both those games at 4 PM, while at 8 PM on Saturday evening, Magheracloone are at home against Monaghan Harps, Truagh are away at Carrickmacross and Castleblayney have home advantage against Latton.

In the Monaghan Electrical sponsored intermediate football league on Saturday evening, all games at 8 PM, Currin are at home against Sean McDermotts, Aughnamullen are away at Corduff, Doohamlet play host to Killanny, it's a fairly parochial affair when Toome host Donaghmoyne in St Victor's Park, and Blackhill have Tyholland as visitors.

There are 3 games in the Euro Tech junior football league on Saturday evening, all at 8 PM, Cremartin at home against Emyvale and Eire Og away at Drumhowan in the cup section while in the shield section, Oram play hosts to Scotstown.

Saturday also sees the quarter-finals of the minor (under 17) football league division 3, all 4 games at 5:30 PM, Cremartin at home against St Tiarnach Sarsfield's, Truagh are away at Doohamlet, Rockcorry are at home against Tyholland and Sean McDermotts travel to Clontibret.
Tuesday next, July 31st sees the minor football league shield final between Tyholland and Clontibret in Cremartin at 7:30 PM, as well as two quarter finals in the minor football championship, Latton at home against Magheracloone, in division 1, while Emyvale are away at Doohamlet in division 2, with both games at 7:30 PM.

Wednesday next, August 1st sees a number of matches in the latter stages of the Platinum Tanks reserve football leagues, all 4 games at 7:30 PM, Monaghan Harps at home against Killanny in the division 1A semi-final, Drumhowan away at Carrickmacross in the division 2A semi-final, Clones away against Corduff in division 2B, while in the division 3 semi-final. Sean McDermotts are at home against Oram.
HURLING
Round 4 of the round-robin section of the Silver Hill Farm senior hurling championship saw St Macarten's, defeating Clontibret and Castleblayney HC defeating Inniskeen. In round 5, which takes place this evening Thursday, June 26th Clontibret are at home against Carrickmacross HC and St Macarten's take on Castleblayney HC in St Mellons Park, both games at 7:45 PM. The results of those matches will determine the placings in the league section with the top 2 teams contesting the senior hurling championship final and the 3rd and 4th placed teams contesting the shield final, with both games provisionally fixed for Sunday, August 5th, at a venue yet to be confirmed.
