its a long road with plenty of turns, surely meath county board will remember this when Louth come cap in hand to them for using pairc tailteann next year for sam maguire home games or leinster championship home games, although Ardee might do them if they are in Tailteann cup next year. i hear Louth have been planning this a long time, their training in Inniskeen the last few weeks. i presume there someone in meath set up with the gumption to have been in contact with Inniskeen club and getting at least one trainnig seessioon in it as well.

Why would they have to train in iniskeen? So now every game we play we have to arrange to train on that pitch beforehand ? Training on that pitch is way down the priority list before that game

That would be definitely cutting off your nose to spite your face. We are also looking for money for our stadium to be redeveloped and if Louth are paying to use that we should take their money gladly. Hopefully PT isn't in use next year and the diggers are in but I'll believe that when it happens

Why would louth have been planning this.
Louth had a lenster final in croke park last week which they went to win. So they wouldn't have been thinking were they would play if they lost.

Went to win????? Don't be codding yourself lad. Your tactics on the day suggest you went to contain Dublin as best as possible, and avoid the 21 point defeat of last year happening again. It worked very well, you were brilliantly organised, scored well and frustrated Dublin, it was the right approach. But if Dublin had to stretch their legs more at any point they would have, they were never in any danger of losing that game and their was only ever going to be one result in the match. If you guys went into that game thinking you were gonna win then I don't know what to call it, admirable confidence or delusional stupidity.

Southmeathgael the big word is BUT. The reason Dublin did not stretch their legs because Louth did not let them. Every Louth player from 1 to 15 put in some shift including the subs. Even when the Dubs scored a goal the Wee County heads did not drop. They fought till the end. Conor Grimes played his best match ever for Louth. He scored four great points. Sam Mulroy was also brilliant.

I like your username Lula. The years Louth won the All Ireland. Did you get your ticket sorted for Saturday?

Starting to look like Monaghan are goosed. Our match with Louth is huge. Only way I can see us coming out of this championship feeling we've progressed is with 2 wins in group. Limping into knockouts before getting hammered would not be progress.

Well done to Louth, came to croker , were brave and put in one hell of a performance however i have to agree with Southmeathgael. the dubs never came out of 2nd gear and at no point looked like been in any danger BUT that would be the case in most province's. They are the best team in the country and will win the all ireland again.

The problem though thelutch is dublin never left first gear and hammered meath, I'm always hopelessly positive about meath but this fixture has danger written all over it, Louth are also favourites with the bookies which doesn't happen too often in this fixture, looking forward to the game and would take any sort of victory.

Crazy decision by the Louth County board and very unfair to both sets of genuine supporters .
If it was on TV they could justify it in someway but its not but I suppose what can you expect for a County Board that have no County ground only stupid decisions .
But it's done now and there's nothing that can change it so onto the game .
Has anyone any news on injuries is Walsh and Morris both out

Walsh has broken bone in foot and Morris has knee problem again. Morris out for Louth, then wait and see.

Must be 6 weeks since Walsh got injured. Will he play or part this year?

The last time Louth were favourites against Meath in the Championship was back in 2006. Louth won division two and Meath were relegated from Division one. Louth were leading 10 points to 6 points at half time. They did not score in the second half. Meath won 1-15 to 0-10. Ironically Joe Sherdian scored Meaths goal that day.

I agree 100%. I'm lucky that I have a ticket but I know a few Louth supporters that are struggling to get one and these are ones that go to O Byrne cup matches and league matches every year. The Louth midfielder Tommy Durnin plays with Inniskeen.

What's ironic about the goal scorer Ollie?...
