Teddy McCarthy

Sorry to hear of the death of cork legend Teddy McCarthy. Brings back fond memories of cork/meath titanic battles in 80s/90s. Believe he also had family connections to Navan.

Indeed. He was a fantastic player of both codes. Rip

Very sad news. His name brings back many memories from that great rivalry. RIP.

I was genuinely upset at hearing this news, as well as brimg a great dual star Teddy was clearly a great character. Cork have had their fair share of tragedies with sporting heroes, John Kerins and Michael McGrath went far too soon and Christy Ring was a similar age to Teddy when he died, thoughts and prayers to the McCarthy family.
