I would even attend some of these games when they're at a Meath venue. Was at both Kildalkey games this year and one of the Kilbride games in Ashbourne. I always want to see Meath clubs do well."
Yeah I know. Don't get to see a lot of other clubs either but its good to see clubs doing well, it can only push the rest on. I was interested in seeing heat tallents is coming through at the underage groups psr club to see what future is there

So now that 2023 has come to an end in terms of hurling games, what have people learned that could improve our games/competitions next year, lets keep this to constructive comments.

We really need to have Senior A championship of 8 teams. Too many average teams in senior at the minute. Bump 4 down to intermediate, or Create a standalone 8 team senior B championship with top 4 intermediate teams. Our seniors generally do well in Leinster intermediate club, but our intermediates champions are absolutely shocking in Leinster Junior club. Like, embarrassingly bad! Beaten by a Louth team last year. Hammered by a Kildare team this year.

I wasn't at the Leixlip v NOM game in the Leinster IHC but I noticed that they used a lot of the subs from the County Final in Leinster game so it wasn't a full strength team. But we must question why this was the case? Did NOM not put the effort in? Or had they enough out of the year. In reality NOM, who did not win the championship would be ranked 13th within the county at best while Leixlip would be ranked 8th in Kildare. So the argument about reducing the number of teams in the SHC is valid from several viewpoints. Improve the competitiveness of the Championship as well as improving the standard of teams in the Leinster JHC.
I would forget about Senior B. An 8 team Senior, 8 team Intermediate and the rest Junior A and B.

RIP Kitt Mitchell. There are not that many who are more associated with a GAA club as Kitt was with Killyon. I always enjoyed meeting him when I was over there.
