they will have to let our Juveniles and County players back training at the same time ? ABD09 (Meath) - Posts: 68 - 23/03/2021 10:46:27 2334793 Link 1 |
They absolutely won't, sure last year there was a lockdown of Kildare, Offaly and Laois while it went ahead everywhere else. The government in NI are allowing it to come back on April 12th. They are wiping the floor with us on vaccines and their cases are about half per head of what they are for us. The decision to return to play in Ireland is a NPHET/government decision not a GAA one and after Christmas they are terrified to open anything even relatively safe outdoor training. So I don't think they'll let county players or even kids get back that early. I hope I am wrong though

Think you are right actually, the club celebrations looked very bad on the gaa combined with the way the country went leading up to Christmas with the reopening in December against nphet the gov or the gaa won't reopen anything anytime soon. Again I hope I'm wrong too.

Don't see much chance of a playing soon. There were more Covid cases announced in the last 2 days than there were in all of June last year when it was seen as safe to return. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1668 - 23/03/2021 21:07:44 2334887 Link 17 |
As far as I know most of the problem was related winning and then the celebrations that followed. At this time of year there will be few celebrations. Now I hope the kids can get back to training, much safer than classrooms and as important. We all need physical interaction but is very important for young folk. Not sure why the closed down county football and let other sports keep going- a bit like the housebuilding where if you were paying for same you had to stop building but if free then you could keep going. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 24/03/2021 12:56:11 2334924 Link 16 |
Allow for another 2 weeks after Easter when the kids are all back at school. They will look at the CoVID numbers then and potentially 2 weeks after that you may see Juvenile training in PODS of 15 as per earlier in the year. And it will be for all sports. 3feetoftimber (Meath) - Posts: 113 - 24/03/2021 15:46:33 2334942 Link 1 |
