We've had some superstar players over the years, unforgettable memories and hopefully we'll come good again in future.

Just for what it's worth, I think Graham Geragthy is the best Meath player I've ever seen and that includes the 80s team. How about you?"
Btw hope you and yours keeping well too.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Yeah I'd have to go with that, as a young child I idolised Jack Quinn, but I would have to say that gg was the best I have ever seen. Followed by O'Connell and O'Rourke (Colm). They'd be my top 3.
As for this pandemic it's a bloody nightmare, herself and the kids haven't left the house in over a month , I go to get the essentials looking like something out of a space movie, when I get home clothes go into wash , I go into shower. It's crazy, but with our young fella and his health issues we have to make sure he doesn't get it. So this place is a bit of a release"
Geraghty the most naturally gifted/ best athlete I have ever seen playing for Meath. I also really liked when the other greats stepped away in the years after 2001 Geraghty soldiered on for a good few years.
But for me, based on what they brought to the team it probably would be between Colm O'Rourke and Trevor Giles (he won player of the year in 1996 & 1999, the last 2 times we won All Ireland). O'Rourke would just about shade it.

3 all time great players alright. I never seen Jack Quinn but my father often spoke about how great he was.

I know the pandemic is a nightmare, especially when you have someone vulnerable in the house but the extra precautions are worth it to keep your little man safe.

We're all good thanks, have to say I'm lucky living out in the country, plenty of space to move about and not a person in sight. But it is frustrating at the same time, the sooner we get on top of this virus the better!

Lads whilst your on this sort of topic. I watched the Meath Kildare game on TG4 Gold the other day from 1997 leinster. It was a great match and what a time it would have been to be following Meath through the 80s and 90s.

Can I ask, I notice that all of ya have named Martin O Connell and he is on the team of the millieum. as a fella who never seen him play live, can you tell me what was it that made him so special. I am not from this era so its an honest question.

Martin was a gem in the sense of pure footballer.his balance ball winning ability.making big plays under severe pressure at vital times in games.played fullforward centre back full back midfield wing back.
Never can i remeber ever getting roasted.has i say unreal respect from his peers opponents.
