Jun B HC final: Disappointment for Dunderry

Kiltale was the venue and put on great show and welcome for both teams.

Ben Clarke took possession from the throw in and ran straight down the middle and pointed on the run.

Mikey Dowdall sniffed out an attack and delivered straight down to Stephen Coogan who tapped over. 

Dowdall put Dunderry three up with a monster free after Shane O'Brien was fouled. William Tracy made it four straight from their puc out.

With twelve min gone Don /Ash hit two in a row and were right back in it after Dunderry completely dominated the opening 10 /12 mins. The sides traded frees - O Driscoll hitting two after Healy and Coogan were fouled.

A well taken goal from the green and whites was followed up with a point. Coogan pulled one back after Healy and O'Driscoll combined well. The sides now level and half time approaching when Ashbourne struck a killer blow in rattling the Dunderry net giving them a 2-4 to 0-7 interval lead. 

Donaghmore Ashbourne started where they left off in hitting a brace of points. A Ronan Healy point each side of an Ashbourne point kept the fight going for Dunderry.  A second from Clarke was cancelled with a free the other end. O'Driscoll gave his team a great lift when he raised a green flag and now there was the minimum between the sides.

Seán Fullham tapped over a brace either side of an Ashbourne free and stalemate ensued. Donaghmore Ashbourne finished stronger however hitting two frees and a point from play to claim the victory.  

Disappointment for Dunderry who didn't reach the heights they did in the semi final. 

Overall a good campaign though and good to see lads breaking into the adult hurling scene taking it all in their stride.
