JFC: Dunderry show true form in Cortown

Dunderry 4-10 Slane 1-16

After a disappointing opening two rounds Dunderry showed some of their true form to deny unbeaten Slane a place in the Junior Football Championship semi final with this three point win under lights at Cortown.

The winners still face a relegation battle while Slane turn their attention to a quarter final meeting with Moylagh.

Playing with the wind in the opening half the Dunderry trailed 2-3 to 1-7 at the break. Ben Clarke hit 1-2 while Adam Kelly raised a green flag from the penalty spot.

Leo Turley’s men started to gain more possession around the middle of the park in the second half. Seán Brennan was excellent from placed balls scoring 0-5. Luke Martin got a goal. Cathal Barron kicked another point from play. Cormac Liggan got in on the goal scoring. Ben Clarke added to his tally and keeper Brennan sent over the final score from a free to seal Dunderry’s first win
