Kildalkey 6-21 Na Fianna 1-8

Kildalkey hosted Na Fianna on Sunday morning in Round 2 of the JHC needing a win to stay in contention after narrowly losing to Ratoath in Round 1 and that’s what they done to keep their hopes alive.

They needed a good start and early point from Noel Kirby got them off the mark and settled his team soon after Eoghan Monaghan cut in from the right wing and hit the net. Points followed from Ryan Byas Francy Doran and James Cully and Arron Byas got in for a goal from a ground shot after dribbling by the keeper.

2 more Kirby frees and 2 points from Ciaran Browne and Ryan Byas pushed on the blues on the scoreboard before Stephen Murray cut in from the left to score another goal to leave the halftime score Kildalkey 3-8 Na Fianna 1-4 

After a couple of miss hits at the start of the second half Francy Doran hit 2 points from distance before Murray popped up for his second goal . Derek Doran was then introduced to hit 3 points from 3 shots

Ryan Byas and cornerback Daniel Quinn scored 2 more goals while further points were scored by hard working Lee Coldrick Seán Heavey Kirby and Murray as the blue finished with 12 different scorers on the day 

Goalie Arron Traynor and his 6 backs were solid and repelled Na fianna time and again in what was a great team performance by Kildalkey on their home pitch but it must also be said that Na Fianna were short a few of their best players too. The win means all 4 teams in the group have 2 points following on from Dunboyne’s win over Ratoath on Friday night so everyone has something to play for in the last round of games it couldn’t be any tighter.
