Three early goals saw Tones race into a big lead but as the home side settled there was just two points between the sides at half time. Tones came from behind to take a one point lead in added time but were thwarthed in the seventh minute of injury time as the home side bravely took on and  converted a two pointer following a Tones breech. Rian Fox’s scoring drove on the Tones comeback with Stephen Sheppard prominent on kickouts in the closing stages
