Isaac McKeever opened the scoring from play on pitch 6 in Dunganny on a perfect evening for football. Darren Fays men tapped over a brace including a free before Adam Kelly fisted over to end a good passage of play with Morgan Callaghan and Cathal Barron combining well out the field. A Ben Clarke turnover and a forward run from Jamie Duffy found Barron in space and he made no mistake. All was looking good for Turleys men at this early stage. Four unanswered points from play had the score board 0-3 to 0-6 to the green and blacks though. A smashing point from top of the right from Ben Clarke was quickly cancled out the other end before Seán Brennan stroked over a trade mark 2 pointer. With Callaghan pushing forward again and creating Dunderry,through Mark Kane went in at half time level at seven points a piece.
The Ultans restored thier advantage from play on commencement of the second half. From the resulting kick out , Barron rose highest and off loaded to Clarke who tied up proceedings for the last time in this contest.
A point from play followed by a two pointer from play followed by a free and another two pointer had six between the teams with 18 mins gone in the second half. McKeever pulled one back just prior to being withdrawn. From the resumption of play Dunderry were penalised for a "breech"
and the bohermean men tapped over a one pointer to keep six the difference. They followed this up with another from play before Kelly pointed a free. Two more from play saw St Ultans stromp home with a first championship win over their neighbours in a lot of years.
