Kildalkey 5-17 Kilmessan 1-9

Kildalkey intermediate team took on Kilmessan in sunny Kiltale on Saturday evening as the good weather continued and gained the win to get them up and running.

From the start Kildalkey were on top and took a firm foothold early on and clipped over early points from Ben Rickard Mark Healy Conor Barnwell and Conor Fitzgerald to lead by 8 points to 1 but 3 goals before halftime from Fitzgerald Barnwell and Adam O'Brien left the scoreboard reading 3-10 to 0-2 at the break.

Kildalkey continued to dominate the second half although Kilmessan tagged on 1-7 but 2 more goals 1 each for Fitzgerald and Barnwell from a penalty and further points from Healy Fitzgerald Barnwell Michael Carr and Arron Potterton left the scoreboard reading Kildalkey 5-17 Kilmessan 1-9 at the full time whistle .

Kildalkey had good performances all over the field and all contributed to the win. They face Boardsmill in round 2 in a fortnight.
