Cortown 1-13
Dunsany 0-7

Cortown kept their final prospects alive following a comfortable win over table-toppers Dunsany on Friday night.

Despite trailing by four at the break, the home side with the elements in their favour kicked 1-10 and held their opponents scoreline in the second period.

The league leaders took a deserved 0-7 to 0-3 lead into half-time having played with a stiff breeze into the road end. However Cortown made steady inroads into the lead and were level 8 minutes into the second half.

Brían Smith touched in Tommy Smith's audacious 65-yard two-point attempt for the all important goal. A raft of two-pointers did soon arrive in the form of the aforementioned Smith, Kian Fitzsimons and substitute Cian Loughran who impressed in a cameo on his return from injury.

Cortown finish their reserve campaign with a home game against St Paul’s on Thursday week.
