The penultimate round of the Adult Football League Division’s 1-5 got underway last night.
Dunsany boosted their chances of Division 3 survival with two points to spare away to Donaghmore Ashbourne.
16 games are down for decision across the top three divisions on Saturday.
Division 1 leaders Ratoath take on second from bottom Na Fianna. The Enfield Baconstown outfit gave their chances of survival a boost with a win over Gaeil Colmcille in round 9. The meeting of Wolfe Tones and Gaeil Colmcille could be dress rehearsal for a meeting in the semi final. Summerhill can assure themselves of a place in the last four should they overcome neighbours Trim in Lomans Park. Skrynetake on Moynalvey in a crucial relegation battle.
It’s all to play for in Division 2. Table toppers O’Mahony’s travel to Seneschalstown. The Yellow Furze men are four behind the leaders but only a point off second spot. Two points separate the 2nd to 8th positions. Oldcastle, Simonstown, Duleek Bellewstown, Seneschalstown, Meath Hill, St. Pats and Ballinabrackey all remain in contention for a knock out place. St. Vincents prop up the division, while last year’s Division 3 finalists Walterstown and Clann na nGael have relegation worries also.
There are two big games at the top of Division 3. High flying Slane take on Dunderry who are three points behind the leaders. The winners of St. Michaels and Kilbride should secure a semi final spot. The Carlanstown men will be eager to atone for last year’s IFC semi final defeat.
St. Brigids and Bective are already assured of a semi final spot in Division 4. Drumbaragh, Ratoath, Nobber, Ballinlough, and Dunboyne are in the chasing pack for the other two knockout positions.
Likewise in Division 5, leaders Gaeil Colmcille and second placed Kilmainhamwood are in the semi finals. Just two points separate 3rd to 9th spot. The standout tie in the race for those other two semi finals spots is the meeting of Moylagh and Carnaross.
