St Brigids 4-10 Moynalty 0-12
Round Four of the League saw us take on Moynalty in Ballinacree on Monday evening in perfect conditions for a match.
Moynalty were first of the mark with a point in the first minute. In the fifth minute a Michael Flood turnover in the middle of the field saw us run hard at the Moynalty defence and Cormac Browne finished that particular move to the net. Within two minutes Michael had a goal to his own name as he finished another move which originated as another turnover. Moynalty grabbed two points to try and settle themselves into the game but another move which started in our defence swept the length of the field and Rory Collins was on hand to net our third major of the evening by the thirteenth minute to leave the scoreboard reading 3-00 to 0-03.
Three points from the visitors followed but we finished the half strongly with a point from Cormac followed by another well worked goal from Cian Blake and Dylan Scully wrapped up the scoring for the first period with a point to leave the halftime score 4-02 to 0-06.
Moynalty started the second half with intent and grabbed the first three points to move within five but Brigids knuckled down with six unanswered points to push clear 4-08 to the visitors 0-09 by the fiftyfirst minute. Moynalty at this stage tried hard for an elusive goal of their own but our defence stood firm as three more points is all Moynalty could muster as Padraig Plunkett and Cian again pointed to leave the final score reading 4-10 to 0-12
A hardworking performance from all our lads as we hassled and harried Moynalty and turned over possession on numerous occasions to set up our fourth win in the League.
