Castletowns quest to retain the Corn na Boinne continued with this 2-16 to 11 points victory over visitors Drumbaragh on Friday evening and qualification for the knock out stages guaranteed.
The eventual winners led from start to finish with Kevin Ross opening the scoring with a pointed free and a two point free quickly after that with further points from Eoin Reid, Daire Weldon, Conal Sheridan from play, a pointed free from Rian McConnell and a well worked goal finished by Mark Kelly it left Castletown 1-7 to 0-4 up at halftime.
Killian Price got the second half proceedings under way with two points from play then Rian Mc Connell scored 1-1 to put the game to bed. Daire Weldon then hit two points in a row followed by four frees in a row from the boot of Rian McConnell sent Castletown through on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-11.
