The hosts scored the first point of the game, responded to quickly by a good score from Kian McGee after a good run. Less than a minute later, a combination play from Forde and O’Sullivan saw the latter fire the ball to the net and fifteen points separated the sides. Dunshaughlin kicked the next three scores, all from play but O’Sullivan found the net once again midway through the half.
The game was over as a contest at this stage and the sides exchanged scores for the remainder of the match.
