FL Div 1: Third loss for Wolfe Tones

May 26, 2025

Caolan Ward Wolfe Tones

Dún Seachlainn  0-15 Bhulf Ton 0-11 in Dunshaughlin

Bhí na coinníollacha aimsire an gharbh, báisteach trom agus gála gaoithe, ach mar sin féin, rinne na h-imreoiri a ndicheall. Ag leatham ni raibh ach cuilín amhain idir na foirne, ach diaidh ar ndiaidh d’eirigh leis an foireann baile an bearna a leathnú agus bhiodar compordach agus an cluiche ag druidim chun críche. Bhi na foirne ar chomhscór ar naoi gcuiliní go uiath sa dara leath ach ni bhfuair Bhulf Ton aon scór eile go dti na noimeatai deireanacha, cé go raibh naoi iarrachtai  ar scóranna acu nach bhfuair siad sa dara leath.

While the inclement windy and wet conditions made life difficult for players and spectators alike, the teams to their credit managed some fine passages of play in a game which saw the hosts gradually pull away throughout the second half, having held a slender 0 08 to 0 07 half time lead.

Tones created the opportunities but failed to hit the target throughout the second half, even though they had levelled the game on nine points each in the opening minutes of the second half thanks to Oisin Martin and Thomas O Reilly. A two- pointer free from Caolan Ward in the dying minutes was all they had to show for the rest of the half and would rue several narrow misses. Bhulf Ton created two good goal chances with Caolan Ward and Oisin Martin producing fine saves from the Dunshaughlin keeper, one in each half. The Tones keeper, returning from injury was also called into action with a fine second half save.
