Moylagh picked up their third win in a row in Division 5 of the men’s league when defeating St. Colmcille’s in Moylagh.
Playing with a strong breeze, early points from Mark Gibney, Packie Kevin and Eanna Brody were cancelled out by a St. Colmcille’s goal.
Feargal Flynn soon grabbed a goal of his own for Moylagh who tagged on further points from a Nathan Gibney 2 pointer and a Sean Reilly free to retake the lead.
Two goals in as many minutes from St. Colmcille’s put them back in the driving seat before Moylagh again upped the pace with further points from Eanna Brody and Nathan Gibney before a Sean Reilly burst before half time which saw him raise a green and an orange flag inside a minute to leave the half time score at Moylagh 2-11 St. Colmcille’s 3-3.
The scoring rate dropped off in the second half as Moylagh sat in and protected their lead playing into the wind.
Two St. Colmcille points were countered by an Eanna Brody goal with further points from Sean Reilly and Mark Gibney off his trusty left foot.
The teams traded points with Moylaghs efforts coming from Packie Kevin and Sean Reilly before a rocket of an effort from Niall McLarney raised Moylaghs fourth green flag of the night.
