Carnaross 4-18 Curraha 3-10

Carnaross recorded a resounding victory in Round 3 of the Division 9 league to remain unbeaten in their campaign. 

The Ross got off to a flying start with a goal from Cillian Comaskey within the first minute, after a pinpoint long ball from Paddy Nugent. The momentum continued as Adam Kerins slotted over a two pointer free and 2 further 45s to put the team firmly in control. Further scores from Comaskey, Paddy Smith, Paddy Morris, and Charlie Murphy extended the lead, with a crucial goalline clearance from Paddy Farnan keeping the opposition at bay.

 By halftime, the home side led 1-12 to 3-3 in a tightly contested affair. The gap might have been smaller were in not for some superb saves from McNiffe in goals. 

The second half saw Carnaross raise their intensity. Paddy Morris was on fire, adding a point and a brilliantly taken goal to his tally. Shane Yore and Shane O’Reilly also chipped in with points, while Paddy Nugent got himself on the scoreboard. Charlie Murphy hammered home a goal to boost Carnaross’s lead, and John Reilly and Oisin Farrelly added further scores, the latter capping his performance with a goal. The bench played their part, with fresh legs helping seal a convincing 4-18 to 3-10 victory.

A minute's silence was held and observed impeccably by everyone present to honour the local legend Tom Lynch. Tom's passion for sport was unrivaled and his legacy will live on forever.
